Bord na Móna (BnM) are an Irish commercial semi-state company created in 1946 by the Irish government. They began developing the peatlands of Ireland with the aim to provide economic benefit for Irish midland communities and achieve security of energy supply nationally. BnM are on a journey of transformation, in 2021 they announced the end of harvesting of peat for power and are transitioning to new sustainable business.

BnM are coordinating the Peatlands and People project. They are responsible for implementing much of the rehabilitation and restoration measures of the Peatlands Excellence and will contribute to the delivery of the other two pillars. BnM are committed to ensuring continued legacy and actions post-project.
