To understand how a government-backed network could have impact for European peatlands, the Irish Dpt. of Housing, Local Governance & Heritage and the Dpt. of Agriculture, Food & the Marine, supported by Bax & Company, are driving an exploratory study on the action and policy barriers that could be addressed by government-backed collaboration.

They are inviting you to participate in this open process to understand the specific needs and potential benefits for a broad range of stakeholders across Europe. This scoping study builds upon previous conversations held in Germany in 2019, and the COP26 event “dialogues towards a European Peatlands Initiative”. These findings will contribute to an international workshop held in Ireland 2022 to further conversations for the development of a European Peatlands Initiative.
